The Lake District, England

For a beautiful meal, take an evening dinner cruise down the Danube River. The city lights and twinkling stars makes for a very intimate experience. During the summer months, Budapest can get very hot with plenty of sunny, dry days.

For an ultimate romantic retreat, it doesn’t get much better than this. This beautiful region in Italy is a feast for the eyes, with picturesque villages and a stunning coastal road. Famed for its glamour, there’s no shortage of exceptional restaurants for that candle lit meal. Couples flock to the small town of Ravello which is considered to be the most romantic spot in the region. You can wander around the lush, manicured gardens and find the perfect spot for a picnic. The town of Sorrento has a spectacular cliffside setting which attracts plenty of tourists for its endless dining options, unspoiled old quarter and great transport links. From here, you can take a fourty minute ferry ride to the idyllic island of Capri. Known as the island of dreams, it has beautiful beaches, ancient monasteries and roman ruins. An adventurous couple can take a PADI beginners course from one of the many dive centres and explore the beautiful reefs. Be sure to check out Restinga Lagoon National Park where you can cool down in a shallow salt lagoon and enjoy the freshest seafood on the island. It may seem a little cliché, but a horseback ride on one of the many secluded beaches is the best way to enjoy a spectacular sunset. It remains sunny all year round with May reaching the hottest temperatures. There is a wet season from June through November, but don’t let this put you off. This is very low by tropical standards and is more frequent in the mountainous regions.
